Guilan Chen, MD

Guilan Chen, M.D., joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of pathology in the Division of Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, followed by a residency and fellowship at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She joined the faculty following her fellowship.

Dr. Chen is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, she is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology and a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the Wagih Bari Society of St. Louis Pathologists and the Renal Pathology Society.

Dr. Chen has expertise in gastrointestinal/liver pathology, renal pathology and transplant pathology, and research interests in immune tolerance in liver and kidney transplant, genetic predisposition in diabetic nephropathy and diabetic hepatosclerosis.
